Ace Broadcaster, Kwami Sefa Kayi says the road contractor whose supposed negligence resulted in the deadly crash involving dancehall musician, Priscilla Opoku Kwarteng, known in the showbiz industry as Ebony Reigns must be punished.
Mr. Kayi, who is reigning Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) Journalist of the Year, wants the said contractor to be brought to book if it is established that his actions indeed caused the fatal crash late Thursday.
The heap, believed to be for the construction of the road had been left over a month ago at the Mankraso stretch of the Kumasi- Sunyani road, where the fatal accident occurred.
Ebony and three others- a friend, driver, and bodyguard - were said to be returning from the Brong Ahafo capital, Sunyani, where she had gone to visit her mother who had returned from the UK.
Ebony's driver may have suddenly encountered a small bank of sand on the right side of the dark road at Mankranso and decided to dodge it.
His attempt to suddenly swerve the bump, brought the car into a direct collision with a VIP bus in the other lane.
Speaking on Joy FM moments after the news broke, Kwami Sefa Kayi said it is about time contractors are made to answer for the deaths caused as a result of their carelessness.
“If indeed the road was under construction and they left a heap of sand there…then somebody must be made to pay for it,” the host of Kokrokoo Morning Show on Peace FM told Morning Show host, Daniel Dadzie.
He described the late songstress as a "bubbly young woman who was full of life and lived life the way she wanted it".

Come again Kwami. What is so special about Ebony for some payment of some sort. People are loosing their lives by the day through accidents and we all applaud and laugh and drink tea over it. We lost a doctor, a senior nurse etc. on their way to a funeral a couple of months ago. What was paid them? Ghanaians in love with entertainment will grieve over her lost but not me. She was a bad example to the up and coming young girls. Hey Kwami, I don't know your level of discipline in your home, but don't think you would laugh over your daughters nakedness in public. His father was supportive of her appalling behavior, but little did he know that death is part of life. I grieve not because she is dead but because she fail to repent before departure. Lord have mercy.
aaaaaadah!!! Use your head, kwami!!
If gov`t does not invest in Trains, heavy and licht rail, this is what will happen. What is a car`s worth after it has been driven out of the garage? It depreciates drastically. Light and heavy rails and tramps are what are needed. Those who contributed to the demise of the Railway company must be punished. Roads are mainly to link to rails.
Who should be punished...another occult man...other people did in this country and nothing is being done about it.because its ebony someone must pay? Mtchwee....nonsénsë.Ebony was killed by a marine power she associated herself with, she failed to honor it and was struck down.some of us know things so kwaku shüt up !!! You can follow Satan and mess up he doesn't have mercy.
This f.uc.king girl is dead and everybody is trying to please her... What at all did she do right... Exposing body parts and singing provocative songs and you people hailing her...ffuckking girl like this is burning in hell fire and you say what ?
Non.sense several Ghanaians die through such reckless act. Is ebony special than the other Ghanaians. Always talk for our anu.s. just reason small
Words will be inadequate in expressing my disgust at the negligence leading many deaths on our roads. Well part of the blame goes to the contactor for heaping the gravel on the road without warning signs to alert motorist; the main blame should be on the Ministry of Roads And Highways. I've lived in Europe for decades, never will one see single-lane on highways. All highways are dual-carriage minimizing accidents to the barest. In this twenty first century, the Government must endeavor to convert all highways into dual-carriage ways. Major causes of accidents on single-lane roads are over-speeding, over-taking and carelessness. In case the road is dual-carriage, the drivers effort in avoiding the heap will swerve into the inner-lane without facing any vehicle from the opposite direction. Precious lives are being lost daily on our roads and it MUST stop NOW. Let us shine our eyes, punish those who dip their hands into public kitty, collect all stolen monies and use it convert highways into dual-carriage ways, Mother Ghana is weeping for its people.
