The one-week memorial of the late Ebony Reigns was held at the St. Martin De Porres School in Dansoman in the Greater Accra region on Sunday, 18 February 2018.
Dancehall artiste Shatta Wale who could not hold back his tears in a short message condemned Ghanaian media for not encouraging artistes in the country.
“Ghana, I want to ask you people one question. When will you support Ghanaian musicians? When will you people support us? When Ebony was alive the media men here, the radio presenters here, you insulted her on radio continuously now you are all here. God will punish all of you one by one" he said.

i never knew this guy can cry o. so he dey fear death? mehnn something can really change a man. u want us to support u? so who will support us? what positive impact will that have on our lives? u guys are the only ones making all the money whilst some of us sleep on empty stomach and u want us to support you on empty stomach. Is that not another way of sacrificing us? Only God knows how come only a few in the society have all the money whilst the rest of us wallow in poverty. everyone will carry his/her own cross when the time comes. unfortunately these prophets can not predict the death of all us bcos we and them have nothing in common. just go and see them if something can be done about it.
Honestly, Shatta shows signs of being bipolar. I mean I know we don't take mental health seriously in Ghana but he seems like somebody who needs help. Looking at him closely since the prophets predicted he is about to die (lol Ghana), he has gone from burning churches, to showing off is Mallam, to driving his convoy through the streets of Accra, to crying. Seriously, can you imagine 50 cent/young thug, Boosie, young buck or any of these real street thugs crying because some prophet said they were going to die? Or is he afraid that Michy will take his 100 million dollar mansion when he dies?
@ Don Biko: Aaaaw Don Biko, you have said all that is in my Head, God bless you, my dear.
The effect of smoking too much wee
We will support you when you start behaving like people who deserve support. What arrant nans3nz! What kind of colourful language was that? And the biggest disappointment was that nobody was decent enough to stop him on an occasion like that. Is he aware there were ministers and other dignitaries in attendance? And would he be proud if 20 years from today this tape is played for his kids to listen to? As if the death of Ebony was not painful enough did you have to use such colourful language to describe the very platforms that have projected your career to this level? It is true journalists have their own issues but it was not only them who had issues with her dress. And let's put things in context it was not their criticisms that killed her:she had an accident and unfortunately perished. And she died with others who were not criticized like her. Those criticisms were meant to make her a better person and project the massive talent we all agree she possessed. The massive turnout showed how Ghanaians loved her. You love someone doesn't mean you can't criticize her or disagree with her.So Shatta Wale should calm down and know we are all hurting because we have lost a truly great musical talent. She was in my opinion one of the very best at her age to have emerged from this country. May her soul and those who perished with her rest in perfect peace!
