The father of late dancehall musician, Ebony, Nana Poku Kwarteng has detailed his reasons for the white attire he has been wearing after the death of his daughter.
Explaining the cause of his all-white dress to Mzbel, Afia Schwarzenegger and Tornado when they visited the family on Saturday, February 17 morning, the spokesperson for the family revealed that it is the tradition of the Akans for a husband to wear white when he loses a child for the first time.
He refuted claims that Mr. Poku Kwarteng’s dress was due to rituals. The family’s PRO mentioned that it is not Mr. Opoku Kwarteng’s wish to wear white when his beloved daughter has passed on.
He further pleaded with the group which included Zionfelix.net to inform others about the tradition of the Akans which has made Ebony’s dad dressed in white.

I don't get it when they say 'If your child dies for the first time' come'on! are we saying he will wear black/red the next time his child dies again? There is a reason for one wearing 'white' but i think not in this case. We all know what white or black/red attire signifies.
It is called so do) Go check with Akan elders
We've grown so stupidly that we don't even know our tradition. Must somebody tell them this? They (those claiming they do not know about this tradition) must have come from the space. Let grow in size and in wisdom. Ask the elcders -facebook, twitter, instagram et all are not the real place to acquire knowledge.
ebony's father is right. in akan if your child dies for the first time, you wear blank and white and not all-white as this i-d-i-o-tic reporter is writing. the man is in blank and white cloth!
