Actor John Dumelo is of the opinion marking Ghana’s Independence Day is unnecessary because there is “nothing to celebrate.”
“Pupils lie on their stomachs to study in Yikurugu, UER, teachers teach IT with no computers all over the country etc. Yet we budget millions to celebrate 6th March?” reads part of the message posted by Dumelo on Twitter on the occasion of Ghana’s 61st Independence Day.

On 2nd thoughts there’s nothing to celebrate. Pupils lie on their stomachs to study in Yikurugu, UER, teachers teach IT with no computers all over the country etc. Yet we budget millions to celebrate 6th March? Ghana without aid starts with us getting our priorities straight.

I WILL RECOMMEND A STATE HONOR FOR YOU IF YOU REPENT AND GIVE A MERE FRACTION OF THE FUNDS YOU RECEIVED FROM THE LOOTER IN CHIEF JOHN MAHAMA FOR NO WORK DONE. A ***barred word*** ***barred word*** LIKE YOU IS KILLING AND GIVING GHANA A BAD NAME...
I will personally mobilize some youth in this country to arrest this guy if the law enforcement agencies are reluctant.how different is this guy from an armed robber or a common ***barred word***. Pls mr. Martin Amidu let Justice prevail or else......the state should free all those in jail for whatever crimes they committed for this guys offence is even no different....
Well said and done. Very nice comment. Oh Mr patriotic. Our future President. Anyway, it's not your fault cos you have a short memory said your president. What did you do about people lie on their stomach during your 8 years regime? Shame, special prosecutor is waiting for you so go and handover yourself. ***barred word***
This toy boy, so did u ever knew that Ghanaians lie on the floor to study but still u decided to steal two v 8 from the past government wow what a world look at who is talking, was it necessary to have stolen those cars. May God forgive you
EIIIIH! THIS MAN DON'T BRING HIMSELF. PURE HYPOCRISY. WERE YOU IN GHANA TWO YEARS AGO? BE BOLD AND SWALLOW YOUR SHAMEFUL COMMENTS. GHANA WILL REALLY WORK AGAIN.
You should have told Mahama this.
Oh boy. This guy is a kid! Even a two year old brains can see no sense in what he is saying but we can disagree to agree! He is entitled to his opinion. Mahama, Kuffour, etc will come & go even Akuffo Addo too,so GROW UP!
this ***barred word*** guy again. when u were busy enjoying the state's money u didnt know that students were lying on their stomach to study. all these guys shd go to jail.
And this why we will be where we are. I wish this your post came between 2012-2016. What was there to celebrate during those periods? I guess by then you were busy buying cheap state vehicles so you were not privy to such information. Hypocrite!
I beg your pardon John Dumelo. When did the pupils start studying by lying on their stomachs. It did not start yesterday. You should have solved this problem when you were in power instead of being a beneficiary of the Govt's largesse. It's unfortunate you have suddenly become wise. You could play a beneficial role to the people of Ghana by your continous stay in opposition. Please spare us the hypocrisy.
