The Chief Executive Officr of Menzgold has rubbished a statements by Bank of Ghana that Menzgold is unlicensed and unfit for business
He has described it as a Joke.
The BoG, in a public notice signed by Mrs Caroline Otoo, Secretary to Governor Dr Ernest Addison, said in spite of several of cautions to Menzgold Ghana Company Limited to desist from the act, it persists in its deposit-taking activity in breach of section 6(1) of the Banks and Specialised Deposit-Taking Institutions Act, 2016 (Act 930).
The Central Bank has cautioned the general public that anyone who transacts “any of the above-mentioned businesses with Menzgold Ghana Company Limited does so at his or her own risk,” and the Bank of Ghana will not be liable in the event of loss of investments of deposits.
However, In a social media post, Nana Appiah has responded to BOG's claim, describing them as propagadist
He wrote;
TODAY's JOKE: Bank of Ghana, so now you dey do propaganda?😀😀😀 I beg paa "Tell Ghanaians exactly what happened with the 5 or so collapsed banks you duly LICENSED & SUPERVISED for years. Please don't attempt to use our dear Menzgold to cover up😎. I beg make we think!

your response to the claim should have been the best but is very unfortunate get the right thing than mr CEO
An Azaa institution. Please keep off. A word to the wise is enough.
Pls come again, don't play with people's heart. The question is, do you have proper licence for your business? We have invested so much in your business. So give the BOG proper answer. Come again mr CEO.
I have invested with your company because I made my research and found out you have license by minerals commission but you must stay within the confines your license and nothing else. Their persistent warning means that they ve sighted ur firm is going beyond its boundaries. I don't like your response to statements frm institution like BoG. Remember customers of those closed banks are very safe. But it will be a different thing shd it happen to your firm
This comment from a whole CEO gives the indication that the company is not Ethically grounded. A well structured company with an elite head will properly respond to such warnings. Ghanaians be warned.
THIS GUY IS NOT SERIOUS .HOE CAN YOU RESPONSE TO THE GOVERNMENT OF GHANA IN THIS MANNER ?
I have an investment with you but with this response I don't feel secured at all please address this issue once and for all thought you have licenses to purchase precious minerals but that shouldn't be the end of it do the right thing man.
What is this guy Nam1 talking about.Does he understand the business in banking?He better go for the proper license to operate his business.I have heard alot of people have deposited their huge money to MensGold for investment,seems Ghanaians don't learn their lessons.They shouldn't come and disturb our peace when things goes wrong and lose their money.
if u have given out licenses and supervised those five banks with or without due diligence for years and today u are telling us they acquired it under false pretense, what are u talking? if not propaganda then what is it? we need to test the law at the apex court, until that BOG will be taking us for granted
This sort of response will not build public confidence in your business and will expose you to ridicule should the worst happen. Wise up man.
