TV Africas most original reality TV series yet, Just Like You came to a glorious end last weekend when, Chris a radio presenter who imitated the likes of former president J.J Rawlings, Kokonsa and Fritz Baffour throughout the competition, was crowned at the ultimate winner.
Like a political race between the NDC and the NPP, Chris beat Charles Dankwa who mimicked Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo and Dan Afari Yeboah over the period. While Charles imitated the politician with near perfection, he wasnt as great with the indefatigable quiz master and perhaps his inability to win in spite of his steaming popularity.
The series which started with 13 contestants mimicking famous people in politics, religion and entertainment often provided humourous consequences for audiences and viewers week in and week out. Among the characters that enjoyed double takes but in looks, characterization and mannerisms were Kofi Wayo, Kwesi Pratt, JA Kufuor, Daddy Lumba, President Atta Mills, Bob Okala, Agya Koo, and Kwaw Kesse.
Every Contestant Had Some Amount Of Talent
After weeks of performances and evictions only 6 out of the 13 made it to the grand finale which saw some of the people these contestants were imitating present. The finale started with a prayer from a Duncan Williams impersonator whom according to host, may be a contender on the next season.
Shortly after that, Ohemaa Mercy performed her new single Wob3 Y3 Kese and there were introductions and skits from some evicted contestants before the finalists got into their acts. The finalists performed before reps of the people they were impersonating, who occasionally shared their views on the performance of the contestants.
Kwesi Pratt was in the house to share his views on his impersonator and former first lady Agyaman Konadu Rawlings gave her opinion on the performance of Chris, after he had impersonated her husband.
Aplus performed his politically incorrect songs and there were performance from other musicians such as Kofi Nti, KK Fosu and Kwaw Kesse. The results were declared from the 6th position to first as follows:
Moses (Kwesi Pratt and Dan Lartey), Paul (Kofi Wayo and Atta Mills), Daddy lumba, Ebo (JA Kufuor, Jimmy Reeves and JJ Rawlings) Charles (Nana Akuffo Addo and Dan Afari Yeboah), Chris (JJ Rawlings, Kokonsa and Fritz Baffour.
