President of the Ghana Football Association, Mr. Kwesi Nyantakyi swore by the Holy Quran as he took his turn before the Presidential Commission of Inquiry into the Brazil 2014 World Cup on Tuesday.
Hitherto, Mr. Nyantakyi was widely believed to be a Christian but a source close to the football chief has confirmed that he is indeed a Muslim.
On his maiden appearance before the three-member fact-finding body headed by Justice Senyo Dzamefe, Nyantakyi gave evidence on the activities of the GFA, the senior national teams financing history and their preparations. He will be expected to give a vivid account of happenings in the Black Stars camp during their campaign at the World Cup in Brazil on Wednesday.
Mr Nyantakyi is also expected to give recommendations on the way forward for the senior national team as well as other national teams.
The premise of the Commissions sittings the Media Center of the Accra Sports Stadium was packed with journalists and many stakeholders in football who are there to witness todays sitting.
