Wa All Stars picked their first ever victory over Asante Kotoko at the Wa Park on Sunday when they downed the Porcupine Warriors 1-0.
Despite the defeat, Kotoko will still remain top of the standings when the premiership returns in the New Year.
Samuel Azumah scored the match winner in the 33rd minute to give the Blues a deserving result and soothe the pain of coach Nurudeen Ahmed, whose dad passed away on Sunday.
And the result denied former assistant, Maxwell Konadu, now coach of Kotoko, a happy return to the grounds where he started his trade since he joined the Kumasi side last season.
All Stars move into second on the table.
