Liberty Professionals progressed to the MTN FA Cup round of 16 after a 3-1 penalty shoot-out win over Medeama on Wednesday.
Medeama trio Louis Agyeman, Daniel Ocran and Karim Abubakar blew their kicks away after both sides failed to score in regulation time.
Liberty captain Daniel Agyei, diminute striker Latif Salifu and Tufuor Frimpong all scored to send the Dansoman-based side through.
A fairly balanced game saw both sides dictate the pace from the centre of midfield with Liberty slightly on top in the first half.
But the Mauves and Yellows rediscovered themselves in the second department of the game with some eye-catching inter-positional display.
Louis Agyemang combined effectively with Hans Kwoffie.
The Tarkwa-based side should have buried Liberty in injury time after a well-tailor measured pass from Agyemang found an on-rushing Kwoffie who terribly missed his steps.
The defeat to Medeama means, their chance of winning any silverware this season has been quashed.
