English Premier League side Leicester City are in talks with Ghana international defender Jeff Schlupp over a new contract.
The club are in negotiations with the Ghana international over an improved deal after a promising first season in the Premier League, the Mercury has reported.
The 22-year-old made 34 appearances last season, scoring four goals, as he showed his versatility playing in a variety of different roles down City’s left-hand side.
His performances earned him the Young Player of the Year and Players’ Player of the Year awards at City’s end of season dinner.
Schlupp has been the subject of speculation over interest from other Premier League clubs, most notably Arsenal, who were reportedly preparing a £5million offer.
But City have no desire to let Schlupp go and the player, who signed a three-year contract last July, is understood to be happy at the King Power Stadium.
The priority this summer for City is strengthening the squad.
