Ghana midfielder Michael Essien made his maiden appearance for Panathinaikos in a warm up game after recovering from an injury.
The 32-year-old has been battling injuries since joining the Club this summer.
The Ghanaian international who joined the Greek side on a free transfer from AC Milan had failed to make an appearance for the former Champions due to injury.
The former Chelsea midfielder is yet to make a competitive appearance for Panathinaikos after returning from his long-term injury. Essien will however be available for selection in Sunday’s League fixture against Levadiakos.
The return of the Ghana ace will hence bring some bite to the midfielder of Panathinaikos who lie third on the League table after three games in the Greek Super League.
