Center referee Samuel Sukah and his team escaped attacks from irate fans of Kotoko after Sunday’s Super 2 clash with Hearts of Oak.
The Accra-based referee (Samuel Sukah) awarded a controversial penalty for Hearts of Oak which saw defender Vincent Atinga expertly converting to beat Felix Annan in post.
Referee Samuel Sukah together with his assistants Eric Nantiere and Salifu Rahman as well as fourth referee Joseph Lamptey escaped attacks from the visiting fans who threw bottles of water onto the field at the end of the game.
It took the intervention of the Police and security officials to ensure the referees went into the dressing room without any harm by the fans.

Is it a question of win or lose? Am not a die hard supporter of any of the teams, i enjoy the game of football and believe the better side wins at the end of the day.The penalty awarded by Mr. Sukah is not good for the development of football in Ghana. I believe it is referees that must live up to expectation. SUKAH is a shame to Ghana soccer. Hearts fans need not jubilate over this !!!
This is why Ghanaian referees don't get to any tournaments.is he a referee?tweaaa
WILL KOTOKO SUPPORTERS FIGHT THE REFEREE IF HE HAD AWARDED THEM THE SO CALLED DUBIOUS PENALTY? THEY SHOULD GIVE US A BREAK FOR THEY HAVE ALSO BENEFITED FROM SUCH WRONG DECISION BY OTHER REFEREES.
They have been awarded dubious late penalties recently, they see nothing wrong with that. They should have won the match clean and square, but they had the shock of their lives. They are not any thing special just an ordinary team. Tweaaaaaa!!!!
Kotoko supporters should give us a break. They think erroneously that they should win all the time. They should grow-up. If Barcelona losses and we don't hear this kind of disturbances.
