Center referee Samuel Sukah and his team escaped attacks from irate fans of Kotoko after Sunday’s Super 2 clash with Hearts of Oak.
The Accra-based referee (Samuel Sukah) awarded a controversial penalty for Hearts of Oak which saw defender Vincent Atinga expertly converting to beat Felix Annan in post.
Referee Samuel Sukah together with his assistants Eric Nantiere and Salifu Rahman as well as fourth referee Joseph Lamptey escaped attacks from the visiting fans who threw bottles of water onto the field at the end of the game.
It took the intervention of the Police and security officials to ensure the referees went into the dressing room without any harm by the fans.

Here you go. Corruption in the game of football. So far as we keep protecting these bribe collecting and match manipulating referees, Ghana football will never see improvement. Couch Godwin Abordey rightly said that Joseph Lamptey was on the lines when referee Sukah awarded the mysterious penalty. So is it surprising that Joseph Lamptey is no more FIFA Referee as he has been banned for life? WHAT A BIG SHAME TO GFA. We do not want another May 9 disaster in Ghana okay?
Kotoka fans the same as npp supporters, they are bunch of ganja smoking lunatics. Their ddruggs been supplied by nana the eevil dwarf
I appeal to fans to not take such issues too far to cost lives like what happened on May 9. Meanwhile, the referee needs to be disciplined to avoid such bad officiating because such are the reasons Ghanaian referees are not called to officiate at higher levels.
The referee made a bad call. Penalties shouldn't be awarded in games like this.
ITS A CLEAN PENALTY. WE WON ALL THREE POINTS. NO MALAM GOALKEEPER GOAL.
We reap what we sow. See what we exported to south Africa in respect of the South Africa Sinegal match. We sit here and look on unconcerned however whenever they exhibit this outside we all shere the blame. How can we all sit down for the GFA to redicle us ? GFA sit up
THIS REFEREE DOES NOT EVEN DESERVE TO HANDLE A MATCH BETWEEN KINDERGARTEN AND CLASS ONE PUPILS OF A SCHOOL. WHAT A SHAME! AND PEOPLE ARE JUBILATING OVER THIS? SORRY FOR GHANA SOCCER!
Officials enyae atetaatet3 na yenyae won hwan ni hwani ! waaa see the nature of your going home. Next time it will be military and M16 to pave a way . This is enough evidence for officials to do good work at the return match.
After watching above carefully, i am asking my self if it has to be this way to exit the stadium. Yes it win or lose but why cant the referee walk away free? As3ms3b3
