The FIFA Disciplinary Committee has decided to ban the Ghanaian match official Joseph Odartei Lamptey from taking part in any kind of football-related activity (administrative, sports or any other) at national and international level for life.
The official was found guilty of breaching art. 69 par. 1 (unlawfully influencing match results) of the FIFA Disciplinary Code during the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™ qualifying match between South Africa and Senegal on 12 November 2016.
On the other hand, all charges against the Ghanaian match official David Lionheart Nii Lartey Laryea, whose behaviour had also been the subject of investigations, were dismissed by the FIFA Disciplinary Committee.
Further information concerning the South Africa v. Senegal match in question will be provided once the decision becomes final and binding.
FIFA follows a zero-tolerance policy on match manipulation and is committed to protecting the integrity of football. As a result, FIFA will continue with its ongoing efforts to combat match manipulation through a variety of initiatives, which include the monitoring of international betting and a confidential reporting system with a dedicated integrity hotline and e-mail address.

Even it didn't matter where the referee was coming from but I think it was wrong to choose a referee who lives in Accra for such a tense match. Lets partly blame the one who selected this referee.
What a disgrace to the Ghana Football. Charity begins at home.
Good riddance of bad garbag3 from the football circles.Trust me it would be a long ,long time before any Ghanaian referee is invited to officiate in any international match.Just look at what that wretch of a referee did yesterday.Unless the rules of the game have been altered so that if the ball touches the back of a player it is a foul I don't see how that moronic referee awarded that penalty. And the sad thing is that our toothless corrupt FA will do nothing about it.
oh excuse me FIFA itself have crooks within the ORGANIZATION! Which planet do folks reside? Did they follow the canker worm in that organization?
GFA shd learn frm FIFA. Suka must be banned for live and even after his ghost
Good decision FIFA. GFA must ban Referee Suker.
Is he the same Joseph Lamptey who was the fourth refree for yesterdays match (19/03/2017)between HEARTS and KOTOKO?
And look at what happened yesterday at the Accra Sports Stadium. Very bad. And such a referee wants an international assignment. Never. Just too bad. GFA has to take immediate action to forestall confidence in the teams and those concerned in the day to day activities of the teams.
Instead of playing our roles as professionals and earn what is due us, we look for fraudulent short term gains. Now you have to live with this shame for the rest of your life.
