Confederation of African football’s president Dr Ahmad Ahmad has insisted that Egyptian attacker Mohammed Salah is currently a better player than Barcelona ace Lionel Messi.
The Egyptian playmaker has enjoyed a spectacular season for Liverpool, netting 31 goals in the Premier League and was named the Professionals Footballer Player of the Year in England.
During an interview with the local media before heading to the Manhyia palace for a courtesy call on his Royal Majesty Osei Tutu the 2nd, the King of the Ashanti Kingdom, the continent's football governing body head lavished commendation on the Egyptian ace for his exploits for the Pharaohs and Liverpool.
“Mohammed SALAH is the best player now not Messi” The CAF President told the media.
The reigning African football of the year was a key figure in the Pharaohs qualification to the forthcoming FIFA World Cup in Russia.
The 25-year-old has translated that form to his club side Liverpool as he leads their surge to the semifinals of the UEFA Champions League after scoring home and away against Manchester City as the Reds thrashed City.
