Kumasi Asante Kotoko has condemned investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas and his team for fixing some matches between the porcupine warriors and their archrival Accra Hearts of Oaks during the last premier league season.
As part of an investigative work to expose corruption in Ghana’s football, Anas and his Tiger Eye PI team posed as agents of Hearts and bribed the referees who officiated last season’s premiership games between Hearts and Kotoko in Accra.
The centre referee, Samuel Suker took 2,000 cedis bribe to rig the game played on March 19, 2017 in favour of Hearts.
He controversially awarded a penalty in the 84th minute of the match to Hearts of Oak after Awudu Nafiu was flagged to have handled the ball, a penalty that was converted Vincent Atinga to ensure Hearts won the three points.
Following premiering of the investigative documentary by Anas, Management of Kotoko on Wednesday issued a statement to condemn the action of Anas and his team.
“We however strongly condemn Anas and his Tiger Eye PI team for scheming their match fixing scandals to go against Asante Kotoko Sporting Club,” the statement signed by the Executive Chairman Dr. Kwame Kyei said.
“We express our utter disgust and disaffection about the conduct of the referees involved in the match fixing scandal which resulted to the poor handling of some league matches notably our match against Accra Hearts of Oak handled by referee Samuel Suker played in Accra last season,” the statement said.
It added: “The painful losses suffered by our club in the said match and other matches through similar machinations are irreparable, irreversible and incalculable”.

Bomber is not a rational think.ker. Bomber just constructs sentences, but tsupid. Bombern is just a a literate ***barred word***.We're talking about fixing the match to the detriment of a team by the bias investigator and you're here bleating like a go.at.
I will be surprise if the entire league is not canceled and the clubs are not compensated . what Anas has produced clearly shows that the league as it stands now has been printed in the minds of all that it is not credible and that is what it is.
Dr. Kwame Kyei, sue Anas and his cohorts at the court of law.
Simply sue ANAS and Tiger Eye Pi not to use your match as an investigative tool again.Who does not know the trade mark of HEARTS OF Oak since E.T Mensah's TIME was to BRIBE REFEREES when ever HEARTS plays KOTOKO.It is SAD but ANAS must be sued for damages.
Misdirected anger. Their statement shows that the management team of Kotoko are not smart thinkers. How can you condemn a researcher for the tools he used for experimentation to arrive at a very good result which can help all of us to take corrective action. So all the old and experienced people on the management team didn't know that the right place to direct their anger is the referee and GFA and thus use the evidence from Anas' work to call for a rematch. They should even be thanking Anas for giving them hard core evidence that proves that on many occasions Kotoko has been robbed by referees. Chaiiii, wey kind management be dis. You have really disappointed your supporters.
Kotoko and Hearts should asked Anas and Tiger Eyes for compensation for using their names to enriched himself for 500.000 pounds movie or dox deal.
I THINK THAT KOTOKO AND HEART OF OAK SHOULD SUE TIGER EYE AND THE THE REFEREES AND ALL THEIR MATCH SCHEMERS WHO CONTRIBUTED TO THEIR LOSSES IN ALL GAMES ANAS FIXED.
This profits investigation of Anas can't be a test of time in the court of law. You can NOT staged an organization used fake names to trap people perceived to be corrupt and call it corruption or bribes.
please peace fm,iot was Ahmed Adams the ball hit his back not nafiu Awudu as your statesment read.
i think it would have been wise for the supporters Union of Kumasi Asante Kotoko to sue the Ghana Football Association, the Referee's Appointment Committee, the disciplinary committee and referee Samuel Sucker and by so doing call for a replay of the match as its results could have effect on the league table. plus issue a statement to ban the said referees for officiating Asante Kotoko matches in future. i personally thinks those referees will never officiate matches of Asante Kotoko again or else we will show them where power lies.
