Elizabeth Addo, the captain of the senior national women’s team, the Black Queens, has called on Ghanaians to give them maximum support ahead of the opening group game against Algeria in the 2018 African Women’s Cup of Nations (AWCON), on Saturday.
At the official press conference on Friday, in Accra, she said, “we need support of the nation as Cameroonians did last two years ago, so that we can make history for mother Ghana".
Addo, admitted that there was pressure on them and that can encourage them to work hard.
"There is pressure and no pressure, thus we would motivate ourselves to push harder," she said.
The striker said, playing outside the country have helped to improve on their play adding that there would be a lot of improvement in their game the AWCON.
The 11th edition of the Total AWCON kick start on Saturday, November 17, as Ghana takes on Algeria in the opening game at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The Black Queens are in group A with Algeria, Cameroon and Mali.
