Those of us who grew up in the days of Kwaku Ananse stories know at least one proverb and its meaning. We were told that Nti Kumah does not sit and doze off on the tree from which his father, Ananse, fell and died. Our elders have also taught us that if a man dies by stumbling over a stone, we do not run to his funeral.
