Murdered Assemblymans Widow Cries For Justice

THE WIDOW and children of the late Francis Fuseini, Assembly Member for Badoor Electoral Area in the Bawku Municipality, are calling on the Inspector General of Police, Paul Tawiah Quaye, to encourage his officers in Bawku to investigate Fuseinis death, devoid of bias and bring the perpetrators to book. According to the family, they had a feeling that some persons were hindering the work of the police in Bawku, probably for political reasons. If not so, an assembly member and a staff of NADMO has been killed in a gruesome manner, since February 12 this year and as I speak, not a word from the assembly and the police to the public about their progress in the investigation or their findings, a family member asked. According to the family, if the case was being handled like other cases in the area, there would have been news, through the media, about the progress of the investigation and attempts to bring the perpetrators to book. At the time of filing this report, the family members had noted that since the late Fuseini, 59, was killed by a gunman on a motorbike at Kampenzua, nothing had been heard from the police directly, except the answers they gave in response to questions from reporters. A brother to the deceased, Seidu Yussif, told DAILY GUIDE that before his brother was shot on Sunday February 12, he had reported to the police, on April 18, 2011, that his live had been threatened by one Zuu Dawda. According to him, Zuu Dawda was arrested by the police and to the familys surprise, was released on bail.
