Fresh Konadu T-Shirts Out

It is becoming increasingly clear that former First Lady Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings may be contesting the upcoming presidential election. Reports have it that fresh t-shirts, stickers and mufflers heralding her candidature are set to arrive in Kumasi in the coming days. Designed in green, orange and white colours, the t-shirts with the inscription Still Be Bold written on the front along with Mrs. Rawlings portrait, are expected to start circulating in the country this week. The promo t-shirts which would be in circulation in the Ashanti region by the weekend according to the information is being sponsored by the local chapter of FONKAR and includes the inscription FONKAR For Life. Friends of Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings, a pro-Konadu group in the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) is still at work despite statements by a section of the party that the group has been banned. It was constituted to propagate her agenda of leading the NDC in the December elections as the presidential candidate. The former first lady who complained bitterly about mistreatment during the NDC congress at Sunyani last year which she lost, still appears to be interested in the contest. In a recent interview, Mrs. Rawlings noted it was premature to rule her out of the 2012 elections. Some people believe the former first lady may contest the forthcoming polls but not on the ruling partys ticket as the NDC has already elected a candidate in the person of President Mills. News of the impending emergence of fresh Konadu for 2012 paraphernalia in the Ashanti region including flags and stickers seem to give credence of Mrs. Rawlings possible participation in the December election. It is reported that earlier Konadu t-shirts sponsored by FONKARs Canada branch will be distributed alongside the latest ones awaiting final official disclosure of Nana Konadus presidential ambitions.
