GFA Sacks Goran...???

Unconfirmed reports reaching peacefmonline.com indicates that the Ghana Football Association has finally told the Black Stars coach Goran Stevanovic that it cannot continue to work with him. This piece of information is sourced from radioXYZonline.com. According to radioXYZonline.com, sources within the Executive Committtee confirmed to them that the reign of Plavi as coach of the Black Stars has come to an end despite Plavi's request to meet the GFA again on Monday. It is unclear what he intends to say at that meeting. The abrogation of the contract also means that the GFA would have to pay over 300,000 Euros to the coach as compensation, according to sources. Plavi told the media when he assumed office that his main goal was to win CAN 2012 as Ghana has suffered from trophy drought for far too long. After failing to win the tournament, he denied ever making such comments much to the chagrin of the media people present. A statement on the website of the official governing body for senior and youth football throughout the country said "the Ghana Football Association held its meeting with Black Stars coach Goran Stevanovic over his future as the Black Stars coach on Friday... We will continue our meeting with the coach on Monday as we seek the right approach to keep the Black Stars on the right path going into the future. Even though the statement sought to create the impression that the GFA was still discussing issues with the coach, an insider has confirmed that the decision to sack the Plavi is final and that the Monday meeting will be a mere formality as it will have no bearing on the decision taken. More soon.
