The 12th Graduation ceremony of the Ho Polytechnic nearly came to a halt when the Education Minister Lee Ocran arrived at the event. According to Citi Fm�s Volta regional correspondent Felix Agbenyo, had it not been for the timely intervention of the Rector of the school Dr. Jakpasu, the Education Minister would have been embarrassed by the striking polytechnic teachers who threatened to boycott the ceremony. Citi Fm�s correspondent indicated that the Rector�s timely intervention at the auditorium of the Polytechnic calmed tempers and he used the opportunity to appeal to the Education Minister to expedite action on the concerns of the POTAG lecturers. In all about 1,250 students graduated. The Education Minister has however expressed satisfaction with the rate of work done on the Volta University of Health and Allied Sciences in Ho in the Volta region. Mr. Ocran paid a working visit to the construction site of the University where he said just like every University in the country the process of putting is gradual but would certainly be completed. He also expressed optimism that the University would start operating in October this year.
