Women with artificial nails and eye lashes must get rid of them before they can be registered during the biometric voter registration exercise. This is because such artificial make-ups will inhibit the proper functioning of the biometric machine in recording data accurately. The Deputy Electoral Commissioner in-charge of Operations, Mr. Sarfo-Kantanka, made this known at a media workshop on Thursday, on the biometric voter registration exercise. He said along artificial nails would make it difficult for the fingerprint machine to register the fingerprints, while the eye lashes would not allow the webcam to get an accurate picture of the person�s face. Mr. Sarfo-Kantanka also said the ears should clearly show for the camera to take good shots of the individual and advised Muslim women especially, with the veils covering their heads to push them back to expose their two ears for better shots. Mr. Kantanka said water and soap would be made available at the registration centres for people with oily fingers to wash their hands before their fingerprints were taken. He said adhering to the dos and don�ts of the registration process would greatly enhance the provision of the credible voter register.
