Peacefmonline.com can confirm that three police officers and a civilian have died in a fatal accident at Agogo in the Ashanti Akyem District of the Ashanti region. The three police personnel, identified as Felix Owusu, Sule and Shaibu Alhassan, were part of a convoy attending the funeral of a colleague, Lance Corporal Ernest Asamoah. The late Ernest Asamoah was shot dead by armed robbers at Tuba near Kasoa a few weeks ago. According to HelloFM's Sampson Nyamekye quoting eyewitnesses account, the driver of the vehicle carrying the police officers, said to be 22 in number, veered off the road killing the three and a civilian who was walking by the road side. The Agogo District Commander who was seated in front as well as the driver escaped unhurt. Meanwhile, ten other police officers sustained serious injuries and have been rushed to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi for treatment. More soon...
