GTV Seals Deal To Telecast CAF Champions League Games

Ghana television have secured the rights to telecast live most of the Caf Champions League matches, GHANAsoccernet.com can confirm. The state broadcaster reached a deal with rights holders LC2 to show the matches of the competition which heads into the group phase on their free to air channel. Ghanaians are keen on keeping up with the performance of Berekum Chelsea who are the country�s sole representative in this year�s edition, making the live telecast of matches even more crucial. �I can confirm to you that we will be telecasting most of the matches,� GTV�s Director of Sports George Lomotey disclosed to GHANAsoccernet.com. �We we are very much delighted that we will be the ones to bring to Ghanaians all the thrills associated with the Champions League and of course not missing the Ghanaian interest which is Berekum Chelsea.� GTV are however yet to disclose the games they will be showing live though one will expect preference is given to games involving Berekum Chelsea. The competition resumes at the group stage on the weekend of the 6th, 7th and 6th July, 2012 from Group A which has Sunshine Stars, Esperance, ASO Chief and Etoile du Sahel as its members. The action continues the weekend after in Group B with the likes of Al Ahly, Zamalek and TP Mazembe joining Chelsea to do battle.
