Fifi Kwetey Denies Plotting Against Rawlings' June 4 Celebrations

The deputy Finance Minister, Fifi Kwetey has denied colluding with a deputy Information Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa and the ruling NDCs Propaganda Secretary Richard Quashigah to plot against Mr. Rawlingss celebration of the 33rd anniversary of the June 4 uprising. The allegation was made by a close ally of the Rawlingses, Alhaji Muhammed Nasiru who claimed the three men were fuelling the agitation by the chiefs of Aflao against the celebration on their soil. But speaking on XYZ News, Mr. Kwetey said the allegations are baseless and unfortunate. According to him, he has been extremely busy in the last few days campaigning in his constituency which gave him victory in the recently help primaries for Ketu-South constituency. Meanwhile, a group based in the Volta region called the Volta Youth Network has questioned the opposition of the chiefs to the celebrations in Alfao. Kafui Mensah, spokesperson for the group in an interview with XYZ News said the decision by the Chiefs is not in the interest of the people of Aflao. For a click of people to just come out and say they dont want a political rally to happen somewhere and meanwhile they are not in control of all the people of Aflao, I think it is a very bad precedent.
