Girlfriend Stabs Sister-In-Law

A 21-year-old, Faustina Adwoa Afful, yesterday inflicted knife wounds on her boyfriend and sister-in-law at Adenta due to the boyfriends refusal to give her money for an abortion. The sister-in-law is said to be in a critical condition at a health facility in Accra. Narrating the incident to The Finder, the Adenta District Commander, DSP Stephen Ahiatafu, said at about 4am yesterday, Faustina, a waitress, visited her boyfriend (namewitheld) to collect money for the intended abortion. DSP Ahiatafu said Faustinas boyfriend denied that he was responsible for the pregnancy and therefore could not give her any money. Unknown to the boyfriend, Faustina had hidden a knife in her dress which she used to stab him many times on his shoulder. The sister-in-law, who was with her brother, in an attempt to restrain Faustina, was also stabbed on her thighs, resulting in severe wounds. DSP Ahiatafu explained that the two victims eventually overpowered Faustina and she was handed over to the police. When interrogated, the boyfriend stated that he was not responsible for the pregnancy and that they had been separated for over three months.
