Rawlings Vows Measure For Measure For People In Gov't "Who Dont Think Before They Talk"

The office of ex-president Jerry John Rawlings says it will no longer stomach any vile propaganda and vitriolic attacks against the former First Family from people "who dont think before they talk" in government and activists of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) party, and will thus respond in like manner to their effusions. In what can best pass for a veiled riposte to Johnson Asiedu Nketia aka General Mosquito, General Secretary of the NDCs call on loyalists of the former President to defy him, Spokesperson to the Rawlingses, Kofi Adams, addressing a press conference in Accra on Thursday, stressed, "we cannot continue building this party while some people keep destroying it at the center." The NDC Chief Scribe, at the weekend called on party faithfuls who believe in the principles of June 4 to positively defy any suggestion by the former first family to vote out the NDC in the upcoming elections, saying that recent utterances and actions of the Rawlingses indicate they want the party in opposition. According to him, one of the principles of the June 4 Revolution was positive defiance and it was prudent for all to uphold that principle and act accordingly. But Mr Adams, who was once General Mosquito's deputy before he was suspended from the party, admonished National Executives of the NDC to call Mr Asiedu Nketia to order since the Office of the Former President, will no longer countenance his vituperative language against the Rawlingses. It is as if Aseidu Nketia is running riot in the party, he does whatever he likes, but we cannot sit down and allow that to happen any longer. He cannot just stand up and say whatever he likes about the founder and go; we wont allow that. The office of the Rawlingses will not keep quiet over comments from people who dont think before they talk, he warned.
