The dress-rehearsal by Mr. and Mrs. Rawlings towards forming a political part appears to be taking shape with the latest being the draft design of a party logo. The draft logo, a copy which has found its way onto the tablets of the news desk of The Enquirer, has an eagle with its wings spread sitting on the Gye Nyame symbol. A gradual collation of information emanating from the activities of the Rawlingses to break the front of the party they founded has also revealed that the logo is accompanied with the name of a party called the National Democratic Party (NDP), which has Justice, Unity, Peace and Progress as its motto. Outsiders who have been brave to peep into the walls of the Flight Lieutenant and his wife, the trained textiles and ceramics degree holder, have made whispers about the outcome of a meeting which was held a fortnight ago in Accra where the fine-tuning of the agenda to form the party was held. The body language of the Rawlingses upon losing firm grips of the National Democratic Congress since the party staged a comeback in power under the focused-minded President John Atta Mills in 2009 is one of a kind to ostensibly make them look as powerful as usual has rather sent them going in circles with their agenda. A careful hovering around the ambitious initiatives by �Papa Jay� and �N..a..a..na� is producing clues to the effect that all things being equal an announcement of a party could be made on July 1, Ghana�s Republic Day. In the run-up to the Sunyani Congress, Deputy General Secretary of the NDC, Mr. Kofi Adams, who speaks for the Rawlingses, denied news report of his madam�s intention to contest the Presidential slot of the ruling party only for the woman to walk herself into a waiting humiliation of 3.1% at the Congress turning around later to cry wolf with the bid to win some sympathy. Not too long ago, confusion spirited former First Lady, Mrs. Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings, made a legitimate but fruitless effort to recover the National Democratic Congress (NDC) emblem with the argument that it is registered in her name, but time appears to be of essence for Mrs. Rawlings who has resorted to a new logo. Mr. Kofi Adams, spokesperson for the former first family, was sent a text message after calls to his MTN line were not answered to respond to the latest batch of information about his masters but no reply was received from him at the time of going to bed with this story last Saturday.
