Kwabena Adjei Explodes: God Will Visit His Wrath On Those Behind Fake Tape Recording

National Chairman of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr. Kwabena Adjei has stridently denounced news reports that he allegedly accused high-ranking members of his party of being behind the wild speculations that suggested President Atta Mills was dead and not members of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), contrary to assertions by members of the government communications team. In a recorded conversation circulating in the media, the contents of which were published by the Daily Guide newspaper on Thursday, with a screaming headline; Kwabena Adjei Explodes! NDC Capos Behind Mills' Death Rumours, the NDC National Chairman, who was said to be in an angry mood, tried to quell speculations about the Presidents health condition, saying, There is nothing wrong with President Mills. President Mills is not ill. President Mills is doing what he can do to promote the Better Ghana agenda, thats it! And people want to rock the boat because they have their own agendas. Stopping short of naming names, he slammed those in the NDC with death wishes for President Mills saying, The likes of me have sat down; we have not talked about anything, we have watched events and we are worried because this is coming from within our own ranks and from the highest echelons of our rankthere is nothing wrong with Professor Mills sitting down there; hes healthy...We cant continue to sit down and then see them rock the boat, he said. But the NDC National Chair maintains he has never granted any interview on radio nor spoken privately about the Presidents state of health to anybody in the media for the past six to ten months, and therefore doubts the source or authenticity of the contents of the said tape published by the Accra daily. Speaking in an interview with Radio Gold on the subject, Dr Kwabena Adjei stressed that he is a very serious minded person not given to vain talks and vowed that those behind the wicked and mischievous story will soon be visited upon with the wrath of God. God would visit his anger on those peopleI dont particularly like rumors and if I say what I want to say, Im bold to say it to the people even when they are present. I have never said that and the publication is very wicked, mischievous and it is an attempt to cover up the rumors that originated from the NPP, he said. Clearly aghast at the newspapers reportage, Dr. Kwabena Adjei, who did not rule out the possibility of taking legal action against the publishers to prove that he has not commented on the ailment or the rumored death of President Mills, said he will confer with his lawyers on the best course of action to take. I may need to take steps to find out the person who said I granted him the interview, where it was granted, the time and what motivated me to grant him the interview, he added. Dr Kwabena Adjei also bemoaned the practice whereby some individuals, because of their self-centeredness and desperation for power, use their offices to destroy the very country that they live in. Havent people gone to the church or mosque before? Havent they actually experienced moral training from their homes? Havent they gone to school where principles of morality and political morality are taught to them? What is happening in this country? he quizzed.
