KWABRE EAST MP, Kofi Frimpong says Deputy Minister of Information, Okudzeto Ablakwa�s foul comments about the late Emmanuel Owusu Ansah, made the young minister sound like a �spiritualist.� In a chat with Omanhene of Kessben Fm in Kumasi, Mr. Frimpong said the confidence with which Okudzeto spoke about the death of the late MP indicated he is a spiritualist who had the power to exchange President Mills� imminent death with that of Mr. Owusu Ansah. �Is Okudzeto a spiritualist?� the MP who was still in shock over the demise of his fellow lawmaker, asked. The deputy information minister is reported to have said the Kwabre West MP passed away last week because the NPP speculated that President Mills had died. Mr. Frimpong, who was furious about the comments, described the minister�s remarks as �childish� insisting that by his position in government he did not expected Okudzeto to pass those comments. In the interest of the state, he urged President Mills to sternly caution his young ministers like Okudzeto to change their ways and learn respect their political opponents. Mr. Frimpong stated emphatically the NPP was not responsible for the rumours that President Mills had passed on, saying �the Mills death rumour is being spread by NDC faithful� especially from the castle. He therefore warned the NDC and Okudzeto in particular to stop pointing accusing fingers at the NPP over the matter. He made it clear to Omanhene that President Mills� death would not benefit the NPP in any way �so why should we wish him dead?� Mr. Frimpong explained that by the constitution it is the vice president who would succeed the president in the event of his unlikely demise and not the opposition leader. The NPP MP consequently warned Okudzeto to refrain from making mockery of the death of Mr. Owusu Ansah who was an accomplished lawyer and politician that served his country faithfully. He said the NPP was angry over the behaviour of Okudzeto, hinting that the largest opposition political party would surely face him squarely in the coming days: �at the right time the NPP will come out to face him.� The Kwabre East MP expressed worry over the polarization in the country lately, saying Ghana was sharply divided along NDC and NPP lines. Mr. Frimpong accused the NDC of hating the NPP so much hence their decision to allow most of their ministers like Okudzeto to say unprintable words about NPP members in public.
