Akufo-Addo Deserves To Be President - Upper West Chief

The chief of Loggu in the Wa East Constituency of the Upper West Region, Naa Abu Dabila, has said that Nana Akufo-Addo is the president that Ghana needs at this time of its development history. Naa Abu Dabila, said this when Akufo-Addo and his team visited his palace at Loggu on Thursday as part of their campaign tour of the Upper West Region. "I am over 70 years of age and I am therefore abreast with Ghana's history for the past 40 years. I know from that history that Akufo-Addo has been a critical part of our democratic evolution. His passion and commitment to Ghana are unmatched by any of the candidates seeking to lead Ghana at this time" Naa Dabila said, amidst loud cheers from the citizens of the town. The chief of Loggu wondered why such good material has been so vilified and misunderstood. He admonished Akufo-Addo to take it in his stride and know that it is part of God's grooming for leadership. Nana Akufo-Addo thanked the chief for his kind words and assured the chief and his people that he is not in politics for personal gain. He assured them that he will work 24/7 to ensure that Ghana gets back on track. "I am not in this for personal gain or some money I might make. If I want to make money, I will put on my wig and my gown, and proceed to the law courts. That is where I can make good money" he said to loud applause. The Presidential Candidate of the NPP assured the people that under his presidency Ghana's money will be protected and that it will be used for purposes of development rather than for "woyomisation." He said his first priority will be to create jobs for the young people of Ghana and this he will do by expanding the economy. Nana Akufo-Addo said, with respect to the Upper West Region, his government will provide irrigation dams that will allow for all year round agriculture. He said, it only when this is done that the youth can stay their villages and make meaning out of their lives, rather than migrating to the south in search of non-existent jobs. "When we say we want to help agriculture, we don't mean waiting till five months to an election and come to distribute fertilizers and a few tractors because of the election." In response to the people's demand for a good road network, a clinic and educational facilities, Akufo -Addo said these will be the focus of his government. Akufo-Addo was on the fourth day of his six day campaign tour of the Upper West region. He is accompanied by his vice presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Alhaji M.N.D Jawula, Dr. Issah Egala, Amadu Kaleem and other party big wigs from the north.
