Beauty Queens launches peace call with tree planting

Miss Sarah Adoley Addo Beauty Queen for 2008 and Miss lamisi Sam Awinongya, and 2009 , have underscored the need for politicians to engage in healthy and peaceful campaigns, as Ghanaians prepare for the forthcoming elections. Making the call in Tema, the two Beauty Queens, together with Miss Napaa Huzeimat Alhassan and Miss Anny Araba Praba Adams, also of Ghana�s Most Beautiful fame, planted a tree each at the Communities One, Two and Seven Primary and Junior High Schools, to launch the Beauty Peace Call programme. The Beauty Peace Call is aimed at advocating responsible campaigning and behaviour for political groups, individuals, and the citizenry. The Queens advised the students to adopt responsible behaviours, and to appreciate the sense of time in their daily activities, and also strive to become peace ambassadors in their communities. Mr Robert Kwami Amiteye, Co-ordinator of the Beauty Peace Call programme, observed that promoting the rights and responsibilities of children from an early in life, was vital to the peace and development of the nation. He reminded Ghanaians that the peace call agenda was a collective responsibility of all, which ought to be begin with them and sustained as citizens of Ghana.
