Ablakwa: Mills Didnt Die Of Cancer...Slams Grassroot Supporters Of NDC

A Deputy Minister for Information, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has denied reports that President John Evans Atta Mills died as a result of cancer. Former President Jerry John Rawlings among other political figures have said the late Mills died of cancer, which affected his eyes and ears. However, the junior minister has rubbished those claims saying they are being unfair to the family of the late President. He said: These are very uninformed and unscientific comments people are making. Some are talking about cancer and others are talking about terminal illness. These statements are not fair. We have become a nation of 25 million people diagnosing the late President of throat cancer, Ablakwa noted. The Deputy Minister further described such comments as uneducated, unscientific and we should not be engaged in such analysis. Prof. Mills passed away on Tuesday, July 24 2012 at the 37 Military Hospital. Meanwhile, Hon. Ablakwa has slammed the grassroot supporters of the ruling NDC for lobbying for their preferred candidates to be appointed as Vice President after the former second gentleman of the land ascended the highest office of the land. Many groups have emerged across the country demanding for certain individuals to be selected from their respective regions. Speaking on Metro TVs Good Morning Ghana on Friday, Hon. Ablakwa said the lobbyists are being insensitive. It is going to be the Presidents choice," he said. "Those who are lobbying and fronting for other people; it is so offensive and I would even want to hear from those people whose names have been mentioned whether they sanction such conducts. He added: "I am totally embarrassed and horrified by the conduct of some of our foot soldiers.
