4 Kids Drown In Pool

The Adenta Police are investigating the mystery surrounding the death of four children found in a pool at Japan Motors, a suburb of Adenta. The four were found by neighbours within the vicinity on Saturday and reported the incident to the police. They are, Angel Agbenya, 9, a class two pupil of New Hope International School, Kwabena Badu, 10, a class five pupil of Royal School Fredrick Aboagy, 10, class two pupil of Last Stop Preparatory School and Richard Armah, 11, a class 4 pupil of All for Christ International School. A police source told the Times in Accra yesterday that the incident was quite mysterious and that they could not immediately ascertain what might have caused the tragedy. However, the Times gathered that there was a heavy down pour on Friday which could have led to the rise in the water level in the pool. The Times further gathered that the pool site had been a recreational facility for children in the vicinity who constantly swim and fish there. Meanwhile the Adentan Police Commander, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Stephen Kofi Ahiatafu, has confirmed the incident and said investigation is on-going. He said the bodies had been retrieved and deposited at the Police Hospital morgue for autopsy. When the Times went to the house of some family members of the deceased, they were in complete state of bewilderment and did not know what to do.
