Fire gutted the Consultancy Services Department of the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) on Wednesday evening.
Fire fighters resorted to three fire tenders in a bid to stop the raging inferno which started after what officials called electrical fault.
The students were due to write a mid-semester examination but the flames, which reduced the control centre of the GIMPA Consultancy Services to ashes forced authorities to postpone the examination.
We saw thick smoke coming out of the rooms and fled. It was serious and I am sure lives would have been lost had the fire service not arrived in a good time, one student said.
Five people sustained minor injuries in the process.
