President Mahama Commends Labour Unions for Single Spine Cooperation

President Mahama has met with Heads of Labour Unions at the Castle to thank them for their cooperation towards the implementation of the Single Spine Pay Policy. He said government will continue to work effectively with labour as partners in development. President said since government began the implementation in 2009, it has migrated 478,000 and 10 Public Service Workers out of a target of 480,000 constituting 99.67%. He said government has however put in place some structures to further smoothen the process. Secretary General of the Trades Union Congress Brother Kofi Asamoah commended government for its absolute commitment to the Pay Policy. He however urged government to remain steadfast to the implementation process whilst urging it to strengthen the Fair wages and Salaries Commission.
