Former President John Agyekum Kufuor will be attending the inauguration of President-elect John Dramani Mahama at the Independence Square on Monday, 7th January following an invitation he had received from the state. A statement signed by his Spokesperson, Mr Frank Agyekum, said the former President would be at the ceremony in his capacity as a former President of the Republic of Ghana. The statement said former President Kufuor�s unique position was explained to and acknowledged by the joint National Council and National Executive Committee meeting of the New Patriotic Party in Accra on January 2. �His presence at the inauguration will be without prejudice to his party, the New Patriotic Party�s stance to boycott the ceremony, nor of his full support for the Party�s petition at the Supreme Court impugning the declaration of the December 2012 elections as announced by the Electoral Commission,� the statement said.
