NPP Supporters Disappointed With Ex-Prez Kufuor

Some supporters of the NPP have expressed their disappointment with former President Kufour for defying party order by attending President Mahamas inauguration ceremony. The supporters numbering about 200 this morning besieged the residence of Mr. Kufour impressing upon him not to attend the event. Some of them who spoke to Citi News said they were disappointed the former President for ignoring their appeals not to attend. I am very disappointed in President Kufuor and I regret voting for him. I am crying. President Kufuor has given me the shock of my life today. I had no idea he could do this to us. We voted for him and this is what he has done to us. I regret joining the NPP, one male supporter said. Another supporter further disclosed he was: I am very disappointed. Its been a week since we started telling you [Kufuor] to boycott the swearing in. Weve been here since morning to plead with him not to go but he still went. I happen to be a member of the delegation that went to talk to President Kufuor before he left for the swearing in and I must admit I am a little disappointed. The argument of his going in the capacity as the former president is mute. He stood on the ticket of a political party and was elected president before he became former president so the argument is mute because it took a party to bring him to power to be the president, another male supporter added. He attended todays ceremony in spite of NPPs order that no member of the party should. Mr. Kuffour in defense said he was attending in his capacity as former president of the country.
