NPP Was Right In Opposing Panel Of Judges Nana Akomea

Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akomea has maintained that the NPP was right in raising objection to the composition of the panel of judges at the Supreme Court. The point is that objecting to the composition of the panel [of Supreme Court judges] is very normal on the basis of whatever reason. We have balanced our interest; our overriding interest is that justice should be done speedily. Anything that will delay the delivery of justice in this matter we [NPP] don't believe should come from our side, we have brought this matter and it is not in our interest that the matter is delayed. Speaking on Citi Eyewitness News, the former MP for Okaikoi South constituency said the NPP's supreme interest is for justice to be delivered quickly hence the party's decision to drop the challenge to the composition of the judges at the Supreme Court. Meanwhile the Supreme Court will on Wednesday morning hear the application by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to join the petition contesting the declaration of President John Mahama as winner of the 2012 polls.
