AKUAPIM SOUTH Member of Parliament Osei Bonsu Amoah, popularly known as O.B. Amoah, has rubbished what has been described as a well-orchestrated plan by Alhaji Iddrisu Bature of The Al Hajj newspaper to ruin his cordial relationship with some senior members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). The Al Hajj newspaper had recently published that O. B. Amoah and Suhum MP Fredrick Opare-Ansah had conspired to kick out Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu as Minority Leader in Parliament. As if this was not bad enough, the paper again alleged that the same Akuapim South MP was now scheming with Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu to remove Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey and replace him with Edward Boateng of Global Media Alliance fame as NPP national chairman. However, when Daily Guide contacted O. B. Amoah on the allegations, he flatly denied the newspaper�s claims, describing them as unfounded and wicked fabrications. �These are discredited stories that must be treated with contempt. I have never been in the habit of conniving or scheming with people to pull down or undo others�, the Akuapim South MP stated. O. B. Amoah said even though the allegations were baseless, he nonetheless explained that the removal or replacement of a party official was not at the behest and pleasures of individuals in NPP including him. He reaffirmed his longstanding commitment to the unity, stability and progress of NPP at all times and not sectional interests in the party. According to him, he was seriously concentrating on what the NPP has at hand right now, challenging the 2012 presidential results at the Supreme Court, which is the highest court of the land. �I am deeply part of the court process and my pre-occupation is to help the party in whatever way I can for us to get the verdict on our side�, he reiterated. O. B. Amoah wondered why Alhaji Bature had frantically made him the subject of wicked and vile newspaper publications. �I wonder why Alhaji Bature has decided to make me the subject of his front page stories. I do not understand why I have become his target�, he decried. The Akuapim South MP who is also a former Deputy Minister for Education, Science and Sports said but for the wrong impression the Al Hajj newspaper was creating in the minds of well-meaning Ghanaians, he would have treated the publication as worthless scribbles not deserving any attention. He hinted he had been urged by some friends to sue the paper for character assassination but he thought he should not give the paper any credibility and enough oxygen to survive on, urging Ghanaians to treat the publications with contempt.
