Power Is Sweet, But Doesn't Last Forever - Kofi Adams

An attempt by Kofi Adams, to represent the people of Buem on the ticket of the NDC crushed to the floor when some executives in the party, took the decision to make sure his ambition never sees the light of the day. The decision to disqualify Mr. Adams was taken on Tuesday by the National Executive Committee of the NDC. Mr. Adams, sincerely stated he believes the plot to disqualify him, was hatched by only few members within the executive. Though he failed to name the elements that were responsible for his disqualification, Mr. Adams gave a clue on Okay FM which suggested that the current General Secretary of the NDC (Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketia) was pivotal in his disqualification. If someone feels that he has all the worldly power to take certain actions today, he should also remember that power wouldnt always be on his side. You would not remain leader forever and we have all seen presidents who have accomplished their tenure. They have all come and gone so if you are the General Secretary or chairman, remember you wont cling unto power forever. Your time will pass and the standard you set would be used in measuring you, he cautioned. Political pundits, have linked the former deputy general secretary's disqualification to a leaked tape recording that surfaced in March last year, containing a voice alleged to be that of Mr. Adams plotting to do all he can to ensure the late President Mills had a one term presidency. Ever since the news of his disqualification broke out, Mr. Adams claims it has not weighed him down and that it has rather strengthened him. Lead people like former General Secretary Hudu Yahaya and the rest who stood for truth and justice dont think my disqualification is right. I want to announce to those who ensured they achieved their plots that I am not down and I am not out, life continues...we leave the rest in the hands of God, he stated.
