AFCON: Black Stars Isaac Vorsah Goes Blonde (PHOTO)

Various hairstyles by players at the Africa Cup of Nations, some trendy and some plain off-the-wall, may not have caught the fancy of the cameras yet but when Black Stars centre-back, Isaac Vorsah takes to the field, hopefully against Mali Thursday, he surely will catch the attention of not just opposing players but also the cameras and fans. The Austria-based star, who has been recovering from injury which saw him sit out of the Stars' opening group game, is expected to make a return with a new look -- blonde. It is a head-turning look created by South Africa-based Ghanaian barber, Michael Packson, which Vorsah hopes to add to his personality on the field as he prepared to make his third Nations Cup appearance since 2010. Vorsah dyed both his hair and beard blonde similar to the scary look by former Cameroun captain, Rigobert Song during the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa. Since he was introduced by his old client, Emmanuel Clottey to the other Black Stars players, Packson is playing the role of unofficial barber of the national team here in Port Elizabeth. A multi-talented man who relocated to the Rainbow Nation five years ago from Accra, Ghana where he was not only a barber but also a tailor and a drummer with gospel group Soul Winners, Packson is always on call to attend to his newfound celebrity clients. Since the Stars pitched camp at the beachfront area of Summerstand in the Eastern Province, the celebrity barber and his assistant, Benjamin Ahlijah, have been shuttling between 'One In Town Barbering Salon' in Strandstreet, to attend to his growing clientele, including players such as Harrison Afful, Kwadwo Asamoah, John Boye and Anthony Annan. The preferred hairstyles range from redoing dreadlocks of Annan, giving the likes of Afful and Asamoah various shapes of Mahawk cut or applying cream and dye on Vorsah and Boye, who has a distinct blonde design on his hair.
