Fmr. NDC Chairman: Some Party Leaders Used Their Girlfriends as Deputy Ministers

A former Brong-Ahafo Regional Chairman of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Alhaji Abdallah Ahmed-Abdallah has alleged that some leaders of the ruling party lobbied for deputy ministerial positions for their girlfriends in the Mills-led administration. Speaking on an Accra based radio station, Asempa Fm, the former Regional Chairman expressed graveness and lamented he will continue to toil and serve the party despite all these greediness by some members of the party. Those who want positions for their relatives are there, I will continue to toil with my blood and sweat to serve this party, he grieved. I said some persons are using their relatives, wives and girlfriends as Deputy Ministers in the NDC chapter 2 verse 1, this administration is the verse 2. Someone used his girlfriend as a Deputy MinisterI did not mention anybodys name, he told Asempa FM. According to the former Chairman, most party members on the ground are still worried and not happy about what happened in the Mills led administration till date and called on the leadership to address such issues. He further made it clear that he is not lobbying for any position in the John Mahama led administration but rather want the right thing to be done. I dont want any position in the current administration; I am old now and cant even function as some years back. We should allow the young ones to work. My level of education will not even qualify me to be a minister now. All I am fighting for is how the NDC party can present itself to the electorates to win their votes again in 2016. We should start campaigning for 2016 now, he opined. Alhaji Abdallah Ahmed-Abdallah when pushed to the wall refused to mention any individual linked to the allegation he made but repeated that the person knows herself as well as the party members.
