Okyehenes Denial of Julius Debrah Is A Mischief Clothed In Royal Regalia

A member of Governments Communication team, Samuel George Nettey, has descended heavily on the Okyehene, Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panyin II, describing his claim of not knowing Julius Debrah as a mischief clothed in royal regalia. Contributing to a panel discussion on Radio Golds Alhaji and Alhaji programme over the weekend, he said; I can state on authority that the Okyehene knows Julius Debrah. They have had encounters; Julius Debrah has led delegations to the Okyehenes Palace as the Chairman of the NDC. According to the Government communicator, none of the past Presidents had consulted any chief before making political appointments since there is no constitutional provision that binds them to do so. Samuel George Netteys criticism of the President of the Eastern Regional House of Chiefs comes after his call to President John Dramani Mahama to consult traditional leaders before making appointments, with particular reference to the appointment of the former Eastern Regional Chairman of National Democratic Congress (NDC), Julius Debrah as Regional Minister saying, he(Okyehene) does not know him. This assertion, though the Lawyer and spokesperson of the Okyehene, Kwame Boateng has described as metaphoric, Sam George disagrees and calls it Hippocratic. Samuel George Nettey, however, agrees in principle with the Chief of the Akyem Abuakwa state, on his call to all parties to accept the verdict of the Supreme court with respect to the ongoing court case between the President, the Electoral Commission and three others namely; Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Mahamudu Bawumia and Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey.
