Women Spend A Year & Three Months Of Their Lives Applying Make-up

It's been said women take a lifetime getting ready and it has now been revealed the average British woman will spend over a year of her life putting on her make-up. A new survey into women's daily beauty regimes shows UK women spend a colossal 474 days - one year and three months - in their lifetime putting on cosmetics, the equivalent of over a whole week every year. This startling statistic was revealed in a recent survey commissioned by Harley Street beauty clinic Specialist Make-up Services, which showed women spend three hours and 19 minutes every week applying make-up. On average the women in the survey admitted taking 14.5 minutes on their weekday make-up routine, 24 minutes on a Saturday or Sunday, and just over once a week would spend 76 minutes getting ready for a big night out. The most time consuming part of a woman's make-up routine was the eye area as applying mascara, eyeliner, eye shadow and grooming the eyebrows would take 17 minutes alone when preparing for a night out, nearly 25 per cent of their total time spent. Now the Harley Street clinic is using the statistics to suggest to women that they could save months of time each year by using semi-permanent make-up. Specialist Make-up Services clinical director Debra Robson said: 'Many female executives come to our clinic for semi-permanent make-up so that they can save time on their daily routine but still have an amazing pristine appearance which looks good for every occasion. 'Women lead such busy and full lives nowadays so anything that saves time is a bonus - especially when you consider that most women lose a whole week every year to putting on make-up.' Specialist Make-up Services are the leading practitioners in semi-permanent micro-pigmentation treatments that add depth and definition to the eyebrows, eyes and lips. Sensations are minimal and you benefit from long lasting results, which will dramatically reduce the time wasted on applying make-up each morning and evening. However, almost all women in the survey - 93 per cent - said there was little chance of them totally giving up putting on make-up. They claimed make-up was a total necessity on a night out, and half of women said they would always wear make-up at work, and 32 per cent would only give it a miss on a weekday if they were in a terrible rush in the morning. Debra added: 'Many women complain that they are in such a hurry to get ready in the mornings that they don't always look their best when they get to work. 'But with our treatments women can wake up with their eyeliner, brows and lips all done and they can go about their day knowing that it won't smudge or fade, and they will always look polished and beautiful.'
