Pianim's Channel Of Communication Was Wrong - Kweku Baako

Editor-In-Chief of the New Crusading Guide newspaper, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako has opined that the comments made by an elder of the New Patriotic Party(NPP), Mr. Kwame Pianim was problematic. "Whatever the merits or demerits of his advise,I thought that the channel he adopted to communicate it was wrong..." he told Peace FM. According to him, though Mr. Pianim is a man of conviction and has got a huge sense of independence", he oftentimes wades into issues without a care of the repercussions. Mr. Pianim, an outspoken politician, economist and an investment consultant courted controversy and invectives when he said that the NPP Presidential Candidate, Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo as well as some leaders of the party should master courage to accept defeat for the benefit of democracy and peace in the country in an interview with the Africawatch. He accused the NPP national executives of exhibiting intellectual and mental laziness during the 2012 elections, adding the boycott [of the Presidents inauguration] somehow portrayed the NPP executives as confused people. Speaking to Kwami Sefa Kayi on Peace FMsKokrokoo programme, Kweku Baako said the critics of Mr. Pianim could have still dealt with the issue without attacking his personality. "I think that the channel for communication was wrong...He is a man of conviction, hes got a huge sense of independence and I think he is a man of integrity...he sometimes intrudes or wades into some issues and how he says it, is problematic... "The way he handles the issue creates problems; because of that, critical reactions like insults are to be expected; however, I feel the insults were not necessary...they could have exposed the flaws without necessarily characterizing him in such a manner. Knowing his level of intellect and experience, I was wondering why he was making the case; it is a non-issue...I disagree with him in terms of the logic of the matter he said.
