I Have Never Liked The Independence Day Celebration Maxwell Kofi Jumah

6th March, can best be described as a historic day for Ghana and as such, it is expected to be one of the memorable day for all Ghanaians to show their appreciation to our late founding fathers who fought tirelessly to liberate us from slavery. Former Member of Parliament for the Asokwa constituency, Kofi Jumah has stated that he has never enjoyed participating in the annual event dating back to 1957. He explicitly thanked God for relieving him from his former position as Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly Boss and revealed he used to suffer setbacks anytime he was to spearhead the event at Kumasi. When I was KMA boss, I used to suffer a lot when the occasion was organized and I thank God for relieving me from that stress, he said. Kofi Jumah stated that when he saw President Mahama on TV during the Independence Day celebration, he felt sorry for him when he saw how the rays of the sun were blazing his skin. In a brief chat with Okay FM, the former Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly Boss under ex-president Kufour, gave several reasons why he had failed to jell with the occasion. According to him, the fact that he was made to stand on the scorching sun for several hours without taking time off to cool his nerve under a shade, makes it hard for him to love the celebration. He further explained that ones inability to fall out to pass urine on the parade grounds is also a relevant reason which makes him disassociate himself from the event. You would be made to stand in the scorching sun for hours and the event would be telecast live. Even if you want to pass urine, you are not allowed to do it and it makes it difficult for me to love the event, he said.
