Kokombas And Bemobas Clashes: Nakpanduri SHS Not Closed Down

The Headmaster of Nakpanduri Senior High School has debunked media reports that his school has been closed down due to the conflict that ensued between the Kokombas and Bemobas in Kpemale in the Bunkperigu yoyoo district of the Northern Region. There were reports that Nakpanduri Senior High School has been temporarily closed down following the clash between the Kokombas and the Bemobas. The tensions emanated from a misunderstanding between the two sects over a parcel of land. However, speaking to Kwami Sefa-Kayi in an interview on Peace FM on Monday, Chief Kipo Harrison Salifu said the students were on Mid-terms when the fight ensued; adding, it is just coincidental. I havent closed down the school - As I talk to you now, they have resumed from the mid-term. I always talk to the students not to indulge in any fight. I encourage them to eschew violence and maintain peace in all their endeavours and hopefully things will turn out well he added. Meanwhile, during Peace FM midday news, Member of Parliament (MP) for Bunkperigu Yoyoo constituency, Hon. Solomon Buah has accused the media of taking the clashes between the two sects out of proportion. According to him, the situation is not as bad as being reported in the media. Three days ago, I was in the constituency to assess the situation on the grounds and as I speak, the place is very very calm. People are going about their normal duties. The situation is not a distress one. The conflict in Bunkperigu yoyoo has not gotten out of hands. We want to ask for corporation from the media to ensure that there is lasting peace in the area he asserted.
