The Obuasi Divisional Police Command in the Ashanti region has arrested 11 persons suspected to be linked to recent robbery activities in Obuasi. The police said that the operation was in response to a series of complaints from the residents of the Obuasi Municipality ranging from unlawful entry and other forms of attack. Divisional Crime Officer of Obuasi DSP Kwabena Otuo Acheampong in an interview with XYZ News mentioned that there have been numerous reports where victims have filed complaints about having their valuables robbed from them. He also added that, there would be an identification parade, where victims will have the opportunity to pinpoint exactly who the perpetrators are. DSP Kwabena Otuo Acheampong however urged residents of Obuasi and its environs to remain calm as his outfit is doing its best to protect them. Acheampong reassured residents that, �the forces are effectively controlling the community, everybody will be protected, and therefore they should continue to go about their daily activities, because we are ultimately here to protect their lives and the overall community�.
